Sceptic: The stars and stripes appears to be waving in the wind, which is impossible without an atmosphere. Some of those so-called scientists at Nasa should have done their homework a bit better

Believer: The flag did not need wind to move, and does not move in any of the videos unless touched. When it is set in motion, the lack of atmosphere and hence air resistance mean the flag takes a long time to settle

Do it, now.
You know who you are.
You feel it in your heart.
And you’re burning with ambition.
But first, wait.
Won’t get it on a plate.
You gonna have to work for it.
Harder and harder.
And I know.
我知道
Cause I’ve been there before.
Knocking on the doors.
With rejection(rejection).
And you’ll see.
Cause if it’s meant to be.
Nothing can compare.
To deserving your dreams.

It’s amazing.
It’s amazing.
All that you can do.
It’s amazing.
Makes my heart sing.
Now it’s up to you.

Patience, now.
Frustration is in the air.
And people who don’t care.
Well it’s gonna get you down.
And you’ll fall.
Cause you will hit a wall.
But get back on your feet.
And you’ll be stronger.
And smarter.
And I know.
我知道
Cause I’ve been there before.
Knocking down the doors.
Won’t take no for an answer.
And you’ll see.

beware of the dog

No comments June 30th, 2009

As a stranger entered a little country store, he noticed a sign warning, “Danger! Beware of dog!” posted on the glass door. Inside, he noticed a harmless old hound dog asleep on the floor beside the cash register.  “Is that the dog folks are supposed to beware of?” he asked the owner. “Yep, that’s him,” came the reply.  The stranger couldn’t help but be amused. “That certainly doesn’t look like a dangerous dog to me. Why in the world would you post that sign?”  “Because,” the owner explained, “Before I posted that sign, people kept tripping over him!”

My first and my last

When George was thirty-five, he bought a small plane and learned to fly it. He soon became very good and made his plane do all kinds of tricks.

George had a friend. His name was Mark. One day George offered to take Mark up in his plane. Mark thought, “I’ve travelled in a big plane several times, but I’ve never been in a small one, so I’ll go.”

They went up, and George flew around for half an hour and did all kinds of tricks in the air.

When they came down again, Mark was very glad to be back safely, and he said to his friend in a shaking voice, “Well, George, thank you very much for those two trips in your plane.”

Gerogy was very surprised and said, “Two trips?”

“Yes, my first and my last,” answered Mark.

Taller people rake in more money

Tall people earn higher wages than their vertically-challenged counterparts while being obese does not mean a slimmed-down pay packet, according to a new study in Australia.

Tall people earn higher wages than their vertically-challenged counterparts while being obese does not mean a slimmed-down pay packet, according to a new study in Australia.

The researchers found a strong link between wages and height, particularly for men, with each additional 10cm of height adding three percent to hourly wages.

The “height premium” was two percent per 10cm for women, researchers from the University of Sydney and Canberra’s Australian National University (ANU) found.

They calculated that every five centimeters above the average height of 178 centimeters boosted a male’s wages by the equivalent of an extra year’s experience in the labor force.

“This result holds constant across a number of other factors that also affect wages, such as age, race, family background, experience and education,” said ANU professor Andrew Leigh.

The researchers, who examined health and income data from almost 20,000 Australians, also found that being overweight did not mean a lighter pay packet - in contrast to previous studies.

“We were surprised to find that there seemed to be no wage penalty to being overweight or obese in the Australian labor market,” Leigh said.

“This is in contrast with previous studies that used older data from the United States and Germany and found that people with higher (body mass index) earned lower wages.” He said this could be because since fat Australians were now in the majority, they did not face discrimination.

in our life

xu33_6We participate to the increase of unemployment

until we find a job

Through hard tests we are accepted in the world of work

We perform a good professional career filled with activity and efforts

a lot,a lot of efforts

till we fall down exhaueted

BUT we are great professionals with our valuable market share.

Time keeps  on passing, and…

…we select new targets.

We meet the sweetheart of our life…

…and promise a neverending love.

Passionate hugs,

and here comes a baby into our home.

Damned night,couldnt close my eyes!

We keep on advancing in the society,

trying to make the best of our time.

We are the stars wherever we go.

and we are finally RICH!

But we need some time more.

to triumph completely.

SNOW –to the tune of Chin Yuan Chun

  February 1936

  North country scene:

A hundred leagues locked in ice,

A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

Both sides of the Great Wall

  One single white immensity.

  The Yellow River’s swift current

Is stilled from end to end.

The mountains dance like silver snakes

And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

  Vying with heaven in stature.

On a fine day, the land,

Clad in white, adorned in red,

  Grows more enchanting.

This land so rich in beauty

Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

  Were lacking in literary grace,

And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

  Had little poetry in their souls;

  And Genghis Khan,

Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

  All are past and gone!

  For truly great men

  Look to this age alone.

The highlands are those of Shensi and Shansi.
